Welcome to the Surgery Residency Program in the department of surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. Our five-year program offers outstanding training and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, or ACGME.

Mission Statement

The General Surgery residency program at UF Health in Jacksonville is committed to training the next generation of surgical leaders. The mission of the department is to be the most valued surgical health care asset in the region and train a diverse group of individuals that will not be just great technical surgeons but be leaders in their field both in the community and in academia. These surgeons will be able to provide culturally sensitive, cost- effective, compassionate and the highest quality care to the public.
