About Chelsea R Yap

Chelsea Yap, D.O., is a University of Florida assistant professor of surgery and a board-certified general surgeon at UF Health Jacksonville. She was born in Miami, FL and attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies. She received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Medicine in Bradenton, FL. She completed both her surgical residency and fellowship in Advanced GI and Minimally Invasive Surgery at University of Florida – Jacksonville.

Her philosophy on patient care is to treat patients with respect, to ensure they have a firm understanding of their disease process and help guide them in their own decision making. She prides herself on her respectful communication with patients and families. During her free time, Dr. Yap enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and trying new restaurants.
